About Melanesia

Melanesia was born and raised in Bessemer, Alabama. By the 7th grade she was sneaking and putting make up and her and all of her friends in the bathroom before classes started… by 9th grade and up until graduation she was doing make up for all the cheerleaders, dancers in the band, and choir members for show choir plays and competitions. Self taught with just a natural gift for creating and detail... Melanesia’s love for make up landed her a job at the Mac Counter her senior year at Auburn University. The day after Melanesia’s graduated with a BA in Psychology from Auburn she moved to Atlanta to “become a make up artist”. Little did she know back then… having no real portfolio and no knowledge about “the industry” or how things worked… that she would be divinely guided through a successful make up career that has led her to travel across the world working with some of the top photographers, glam teams, stylist, art direciors, celebrities, artists, musicians, actors, and more.

Melanesia has had experience in Television and Film, Red Carpet Events, Editorial Shoots, Commercials, Retail, Male grooming, and Touring. Melanesia works well with any canvas… any age…any skin type and absolutely any skin complexion.

Currently freelancing and residing in Los Angeles, she is steadily creating a lane for herself because of her niche for being able to work with and naturally enhance ANY skin complexion from the fairest of fair to the most beautiful chocolate or ebony brown.

Melanesia has been working on a series of beauty events and a self worth blog/movement. Here is what she has to say about it.
“I like to consider myself a Makeup Activist.I want to Redefine Beauty and what we as women think it means to be beautiful. I want to educate, give back, empower and activate the light in people. I graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in Psychology. Although I never really saw myself using my degree in the literal sense...I have come to realize that I am using it indeed. How you look and how you feel are sometimes correlated. All my life I have been able to genuinely connect with people upon 1st interactions with them...this has resulted in very loving and trusting relationships with my clients and people I come in contact with while working. I also believe in ENHANCING a woman's beauty instead of transforming her into someone completely different...Within my Brand...I have found away to connect, teach, and redefine what many may think it means to be beautiful."
